The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materazzi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Marco Materazzi has been cut.

Cacho throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cacho throws a low kick but it's checked well by Materazzi.
Materazzi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Materazzi counters with a series of strikes. Cacho will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Materazzi swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Cacho tries to bum rush Materazzi with a series of wild strikes but Materazzi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Materazzi tries to keep at a distance but Cacho has taken the fight into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Cacho's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Materazzi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cacho will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Materazzi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cacho throws a right hand that Materazzi ducks under and follows up with a left that Materazzi also avoids with ease.

Cacho fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Materazzi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
