Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Staley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryu Hyabusa! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hyabusa lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Staley has a takedown stuffed. Damian Staley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Staley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hyabusa pinned against the cage. Hyabusa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice sprawl there from Hyabusa as Staley shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Staley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Staley swings for the body but Hyabusa moves out of range.
Staley blocks a leg kick. Hyabusa lands a jab-cross combination.
Staley is rocked! Staley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Oh Staley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hyabusa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hyabusa throws a sloppy head kick and Staley moves out of range easily. Hyabusa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Staley displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hyabusa throws out the jab. Hyabusa tries to bum rush Staley with a series of wild strikes but Staley uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hyabusa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Staley moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hyabusa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Staley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hyabusa swivels and escapes. Hyabusa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

A punch combination from Hyabusa misses. Staley seems to have got his legs back now. Staley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hyabusa counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Hyabusa throws a right and a left that Staley avoids nicely. Hyabusa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hyabusa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Staley fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hyabusa connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Staley! He's out on his feet! Hyabusa rushes in and drops Staley with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
