The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stram is defended easily by Garcia.
Stram shoots in but no luck this time.
Stram shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Garcia pinned against the cage. Garcia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taylor Stram. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garcia gets caught flat footed, as Stram shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Garcia wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stram tries to free his leg and advance position but Garcia is retaining full guard.

Stram drops back looking for a leg! Garcia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Garcia manages to kick Stram off! Stram jumps back into Garcia's guard.
Garcia wants to sweep here but Stram controlling him for the moment.
Stram passes into half guard.
Garcia is looking to improve his position.

Garcia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stram. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stram drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stram jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stram is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Garcia has his hands clasped together but Stram extends an breaks Garcia's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Stram.
