Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darius Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by 2pac nothing to lose. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Jones! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ellis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jones moves into range and clinches up with Ellis. Jones gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Ellis is defending well.
Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ellis wants to get back to full guard. Jones working the head and body with strikes. Ellis is trying to get back to full guard. Ellis actively working from the bottom here. Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Ellis is defending well.
Ellis pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ellis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jones wants to pass to mount but Ellis is defending the position. Ellis regains full guard. Nicely done. Ellis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ellis tries to land a leg kick but Jones saw it coming and moves away.

Ellis wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Ellis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones feints and as Ellis raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones gets to his feet - Ellis follows without any prompting. Jones looks gassed! Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones feints and as Ellis raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Ellis keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Ellis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ellis trying to control the position.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Ellis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ellis is keeping the position for now. Ellis is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment. Ellis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Ellis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice body kick.
Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ellis is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it. Jones stands up and beckons Ellis to his feet. Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. Jones is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis is controlling Jones's posture. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ellis is on top in guard.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ellis stacks Jones on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ellis! Jones can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ellis lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johny Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ellis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Ellis misses with a takedown and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ellis's guard. Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ellis, up you get! Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jones takes a swing at Ellis's ribcage but misses. Ellis with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Ellis didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ellis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jones sitting in guard here, content to control. Jones won't allow Ellis to sweep him here. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Ellis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ellis is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ellis working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Ellis is retaining full guard. Ellis can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ellis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ellis won't allow Jones to pass to mount. Ellis works his way to full guard. Good work. Jones won't allow Ellis to sweep him here. Jones passes Ellis's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ellis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jones scores with a couple of nice shots. Ellis is trying to get back to full guard. Johny Jones has got the better of the ground game so far. Jones tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Jones thows a huge punch but Ellis dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ellis has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ellis is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis wants to get back to full guard. Jones slows the pace down in half guard. Ellis is trying to control but can't.
Jones lands with a punch from half guard. Jones moves into full mount! Ellis won't be happy about that! Ellis is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea. Jones with the ground and pound from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount. Ellis tries to hold on but Jones postures up. Ellis bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jones is looking to stand up but Ellis isn't so interested in that idea. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Ellis is proving a slippery customer.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ellis forces his way into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johny Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones is rocked! Ellis passes the guard and advances to mount! Jones is still in real trouble! Can Ellis finish him? Ellis working Jones over with strikes here. Ellis is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Ellis!
