PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fisher kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Must Be The Money. Sharpe has chosen Russian Unicorn as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Steve Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Sharpe!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Fisher misses.

Fisher moves into the clinch.
Sharpe jumps guard but Fisher turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Sharpe tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Fisher has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sharpe regains guard immediately.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Sharpe throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Sharpe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fisher's guard.

Fisher shoots in for a takedown but Sharpe shows good takedown defense.

Fisher misses with a takedown attempt - Sharpe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sharpe jabs Fisher right on the nose. Fisher blinks but takes it well.
A punch lands to the side of Fisher 's head but he takes it in his stride.

and Fisher counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Sharpe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sharpe.

Sharpe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fisher defends well.

Fisher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fisher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sharpe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fisher postures up in Sharpe's guard and throws a big left but Sharpe blocks it.
Sharpe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Let's hope that Sharpe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Fisher is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sharpe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Steve Fisher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sharpe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fisher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fisher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sharpe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fisher has managed to get both his arms back between Sharpe's legs - danger averted.

Well Sharpe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
