Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wade Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ads Mamen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ads Mamen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wade Carlson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ads Mamen! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Mamen misses. Mamen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Carlson cracks Mamen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mamen misses with the combination.
Mamen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Carlson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mamen! Carlson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Carlson is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Carlson shoots in for a takedown but Mamen shows good takedown defense. Carlson gets a takedown into half guard. Carlson stalling. Mamen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carlson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mamen is trying to stand back up but Carlson is controlling him
Carlson is keen to just control but Mamen is a slippery customer. Carlson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Wade Carlson. Carlson gets the takedown into side control. Carlson trying to control the position but Mamen is working away. Carlson tries for a kimura but Mamen is defending well. Mamen is trying to buck Carlson off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carlson takes a little break here. Mamen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Carlson working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Carlson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Carlson controlling from side mount. Sloppy strikes there by Carlson. Carlson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mamen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Carlson happy to just control the position for now. Carlson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Carlson happy to just control the position for now. Carlson throwing shots but missing, from side control. Carlson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mamen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mamen has escaped the position, nice work there. Carlson works to advance to full mount. Mamen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Carlson unloads with some shots from mount but Mamen bucks and avoids them well.

Carlson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mamen looks a forlorn figure.
Carlson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mamen wants to control but Carlson is having none of it. Carlson throwing strikes here but Mamen is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlson has control of Mamen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mamen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Carlson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mamen because Carlson loaded up on that one. Mamen reaches up to try and control the position but Carlson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Mamen rolls and tries to escape and now Carlson has his back!

Mamen covering up well under a barage of strikes. Mamen covering up well and avoiding damage. Carlson looking for the choke from the back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Will Carlson go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Wade Carlson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mamen throws a right hand that Carlson ducks under and follows up with a left that Carlson also avoids with ease. Carlson clinches up against the cage. Carlson has Mamen pushed against the cage. Carlson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mamen pulls him back up using the underhooks. A head punch on the inside from Mamen fails to land. Carlson landing knees to the body.
Carlson manages to break the clinch.
Carlson circles away from the clinch attempt and Carlson counters with a takedown into side control. Carlson taking a breather here. Mamen tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mamen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Carlson's guard. Nice work there by Mamen.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson pulls Mamen in to control the position. Carlson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mamen is one step ahead there. Mamen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carlson is keeping the position for now. Carlson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mamen being controlled here momentarily. Carlson striking off his back but it's not causing Mamen any problems. Carlson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Mamen wants to stand but Carlson is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mamen defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Carlson. Carlson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Carlson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Mamen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carlson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Carlson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mamen swivels and escapes. Carlson feints and as Mamen raises his hands in defense, Carlson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Carlson advances to half guard. Carlson stops Mamen from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson seems to be working for a kimura but Mamen defends the submission attempt. Carlson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mamen! Mamen defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Carlson. Mamen is working to get back to half guard.
Carlson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mamen has worked his arm free - good work by Mamen!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlson decides to stand back up. Mamen tries for a takedown but Carlson circles away easily and Carlson counters with a shoot takedown. Mamen fights it but they end up in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carlson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carlson. Mamen wants to get back to his feet but Carlson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Carlson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mamen can do to turn this around? Carlson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Carlson trying to control but Mamen is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carlson with a flurry of punches that miss. Carlson passes Mamen's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Carlson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mamen is just riding it out for now. Carlson eventually gives up the hold. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wade Carlson dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Carlson throws a nice elbow from the bottom. Mamen wanted to stand there but Carlson had control of the position. Carlson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mamen! Carlson controlling from the full mount. Carlson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Carlson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mamen is trying to maintain the position but Carlson is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mamen is staying active underneath Carlson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mamen wants to get back to his feet. Wade Carlson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Carlson trying to control from half guard but Mamen is working away. Carlson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Carlson works his foot free and advances to mount. Mamen is trying desperately to improve position. Carlson working for a submission but Mamen is keeping him at bay. You get the feeling that Mamen really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Carlson lands with some strikes. Mamen is wriggling around trying to escape.
