Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Belcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ackmad Hassad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Belcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ackmad Hassad!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hassad tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Belcher counters with a nice body shot.
Belcher swats away the attempt to clinch by Hassad.
Hassad throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belcher is defended easily by Hassad.

Hassad tries to clinch
and Belcher counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hassad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Belcher swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Belcher throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Hassad wants to clinch.
Ackmad Hassad is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Belcher dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Belcher counters by moving into the clinch.
Belcher taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Belcher has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hassad is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hassad pulls guard successfully.

Belcher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hassad is looking for a triangle but Belcher pushes his legs off easily.
Hassad has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Belcher has passed into side control.
Hassad manages to get back to half guard.
Belcher tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hassad is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Belcher pulls his head out easily.

Belcher uses his free foot to push down on Hassad's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hassad.
Hassad manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Hassad is trying to get back to full guard.

Belcher wants to control but Hassad is keeping him busy.
Belcher perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Belcher with the ground and pound but Hassad uses the opportunity to regain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hassad looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Belcher would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Belcher will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hassad wants to clinch.

Belcher drives through and clinches with Hassad against the cage.
Hassad is trying to pull guard but Belcher turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Belcher gets underhooks to prevent Hassad's takedown attempt.
Belcher manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Hassad jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Belcher walks away with a smile on his face. Hassad gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ryan Belcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ackmad Hassad.

Belcher pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hassad moves in looking to clinch but Belcher pushes him off.
Belcher looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hassad is fending him off so far but Belcher persists. Nope, Hassad circles away and we're back to standing.
Belcher swats away the attempt to clinch by Hassad.
Belcher has a takedown stuffed.
Hassad lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Belcher lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hassad has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hassad and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Hassad counters with a series of strikes. Belcher will be more careful next time no doubt.

Belcher is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hassad sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Belcher rushes Hassad and presses him up against the cage.
Hassad tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Belcher smiles and moves away.

Belcher fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hassad, pushing him back against the cage.

Hassad is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Belcher defends well.

Hassad is looking for a triangle but Belcher pushes his legs off easily.

Hassad has his foot on Belcher's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Belcher works his way back into a safe position though.

Belcher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hassad has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Belcher has managed to get both his arms back between Hassad's legs - danger averted.

Hassad had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Belcher defends it easily.
Belcher throws a big right hand that misses.

and Belcher counters with a three punch combo that has Hassad backing up. Hassad nods at Belcher to acknowledge the strikes.

Hassad gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Belcher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hassad blocks a head kick by Belcher.

Belcher has Hassad up against the cage in a clinch.

Belcher jumps into guard, dragging Hassad to the mat.

Hassad is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Belcher is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Belcher has escaped and now he's on top!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Well, if Belcher is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well Belcher has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
