Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ian Capulet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Frotnis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Frotnis! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frotnis looks to clinch so Capulet counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Capulet drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Capulet jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Capulet's corner is telling him to maintain position. Capulet drops back looking for a leg! Frotnis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Frotnis manages to kick Capulet off! Capulet jumps back into Frotnis's guard. Capulet would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Capulet's corner is telling him to maintain position. Frotnis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Capulet tries to free his leg and advance position but Frotnis is retaining full guard. Capulet wants to control from the top but Frotnis keeps moving. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ian Capulet just wasn't active enough. Capulet is trying hard to land a takedown here. Frotnis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frotnis clinches up with Capulet and pushes him back against the cage. Frotnis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Capulet drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Frotnis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Capulet has Frotnis in his guard. Frotnis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Frotnis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Capulet has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Frotnis has managed to get both his arms back between Capulet's legs - danger averted. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Capulet has his foot on Frotnis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Frotnis works his way back into a safe position though. Capulet throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Capulet keeping moving, preventing Frotnis from controlling successfully. Capulet escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Frotnis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frotnis is stalling in the full guard. Capulet had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Frotnis defends it easily. Capulet is breathing heavily. Frotnis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Frotnis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Capulet is keeping the position for now. Capulet is looking for a triangle but Frotnis pushes his legs off easily.
Capulet is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frotnis trying to control but Capulet is working from the bottom. Frotnis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Capulet is keeping the position for now. Capulet working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frotnis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frotnis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Frotnis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Capulet looking for a guillotine here but Frotnis defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Frotnis trying to control but Capulet is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Capulet changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Frotnis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Capulet decides to stand back up. Capulet steps back and let's Frotnis get back to his feet. Capulet fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Capulet looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frotnis is fending him off so far but Capulet persists. Nope, Frotnis circles away and we're back to standing. Frotnis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Capulet was covering up waiting for the punch and Frotnis finishes the takedown easily into guard. Frotnis wants to control from the top but Capulet keeps moving. Capulet has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Frotnis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frotnis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

James Frotnis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Capulet closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Frotnis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Frotnis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Capulet sprawls well initially but Frotnis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Capulet is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Frotnis pulls his head out easily. Capulet really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frotnis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Capulet's head. Capulet looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Capulet wants to control but Frotnis is keeping busy.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ian Capulet will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
