Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A bone on bone clash there as Scott blocks the leg kick.
Michael Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanchez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Scott. Sanchez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sanchez throws a head kick but Scott moves out of range.
Sanchez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Scott. Scott misses with a wild body shot. The crowd cheers as Sanchez lands an impressive looking overhand right. Scott doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Michael Scott has been cut. Scott sizes up Sanchez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Scott jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sanchez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sanchez throws a head kick that misses. Scott misses with an uppercut. Scott shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big right from Sanchez misses. Scott looks to land a left hand but Sanchez moved out of range nicely. Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sanchez misses with a head kick.
Junior Sanchez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Scott lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A slow jab from Scott misses its intended target. Sanchez throws a body kick that misses. Scott misses with a hook to the body
and Sanchez counters with a big head kick but Scott shrugs it off. Scott looks to land a right hand but Sanchez moved out of range. Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sanchez. Sanchez throws a head kick that misses. Scott is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sanchez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Scott misses with a looping right. Sanchez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Scott. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scott scores with a hook. Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Scott moves away. Nice body punch from Sanchez. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanchez misses with a low kick as Scott jumps back. Scott shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sanchez is trying to defend but Scott finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Scott lands with a punch from half guard. Scott scoring with strikes to the body and head. Scott keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Sanchez is trying to stand up here but Scott is controlling him well. Scott controlling the pace. Sanchez wants to control but Scott is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez is trying to stand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Scott shoots in and gets a takedown into Sanchez's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Scott in particular looking to stall. Sanchez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Scott. Scott is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Scott. Sanchez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Sanchez is looking to land body kicks. Scott thows a body shot but no joy. Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sanchez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Sanchez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Sanchez throws a nice outside leg kick. Scott lands with a shot to the body. Sanchez misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Sanchez throws a leg kick but Scott moved away. Scott looks to score with a jab to the body but Sanchez is just out of range. Sanchez works over Scott's head and body with a nice combination. Sanchez slips a jab from Scott. Scott tries to bum rush Sanchez with a series of wild strikes but Sanchez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sanchez misses with a leg kick. Crunch! Sanchez slams his shin into Scott's torso. Scott throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sanchez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Scott throws out a loose jab but Sanchez uses good head movement to avoid it. Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Scott slips a straight right by Sanchez. Sanchez slaps away a takedown attempt from Scott, before circling back to the center of the mat. Scott closes the distance and clinches up with Sanchez, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes Sanchez against the cage but Sanchez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Scott keeps the fight on the outside. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Scott throws a big shot that misses. Scott is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sanchez. Sanchez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Scott fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sanchez manages to avoid it. Scott looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sanchez!
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Scott trying to control but he's not successful this time. Scott controlling from the full mount. Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.

It looks like Junior Sanchez has been cut. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scott lands a nice shot to the head. Scott looking to control but Sanchez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Scott dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Scott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Scott is keen to just control but Sanchez is a slippery customer. Still in half guard, Scott seems content to control. Scott takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Scott trying to control the pace. Sanchez tries to kick Scott off but Scott keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Scott looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sanchez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott is trying to control the action in half guard but Sanchez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sanchez is defending against the submission attempts here by Scott.
Scott is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sanchez taking some punishment here, with Scott in his half guard. Scott content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scott connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Scott takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Scott with the ground and pound but Sanchez uses the opportunity to regain guard. Scott passes Sanchez's left leg - he's now in half guard. Scott tries to pass to full mount but Sanchez defends it. Scott slows the pace down in half guard. Sanchez is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Scott has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Sanchez is tapping! This fight is all over!
