Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Cristos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cristos's entrance music is Cypress Hill - Hand on the Pump. A fine choice. Williams comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sunshine of Your Love kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Butch Williams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Cristos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Butch Williams!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams walks into a straight right hand from Cristos.
Williams takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Cristos connects with a body shot.
Cristos lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Cristos gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cristos looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Cristos can't find room to land a body shot as Williams controls the action.
Cristos lands with a left to the head.
Williams tries to score a body lock takedown but Cristos shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cristos lands a hook to the side of the head.
Williams tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Cristos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Williams's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cristos connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Williams scrambles back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cristos drives through and clinches with Williams against the cage.
Cristos tries to stall but Williams uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Cristos is pressed up against the cage. Williams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cristos down to the mat. Cristos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Cristos connects with a crisp jab.
Martin Cristos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cristos lands with a slapping head kick.
Nice jab there from Cristos.
Williams wants to slow Cristos down by chopping away at his legs.
Cristos explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Cristos tries a low kick but Williams avoids it.
Cristos connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Cristos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Williams has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cristos pinned against the cage. Cristos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Martin Cristos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butch Williams.
Cristos looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Cristos stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Williams throws a head kick but Cristos moves out of range.

Good leg kick by Cristos there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Martin Cristos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cristos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Williams.
Cristos tries to land a front kick but Williams steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Williams is looking to break free of the clinch but Cristos has double underhooks.

Williams drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cristos gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Cristos lands a damaging elbow.
Cristos will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Williams up against the cage.
Cristos lands with a right to the head.
Williams creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Cristos's defenses.


It looks like Martin Cristos has been cut.
Cristos is trying to stall.
Cristos seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Williams is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Williams is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Cristos misses with the head strike.
Williams is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cristos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Williams takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cristos's head.

Cristos makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cristos.
Williams is pushing down on Cristos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cristos is fighting to maintain full guard but Williams has managed to sneak the leg through.

Williams is working for a submission of some sort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Williams is looking for a kimura but Cristos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Williams to get the leverage.

Williams throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Cristos lands a nice uppercut.

Williams jumps guard but Cristos stands there with Williams around his waist. Williams gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cristos lands with a kick to the temple. Williams shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Cristos lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Cristos connects with a leg kick. Williams looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Williams drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Williams tries to move into range but Cristos moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Cristos wants to slow Williams down by chopping away at his legs.
A solid leg kick lands there for Cristos.

Cristos presses Williams against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Cristos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cristos lands with a thumping leg kick.
A head kick from Cristos lands but Williams takes it in his stride.
Williams chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cristos can pounce on him.
Cristos cracks Williams with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Williams tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Cristos pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Williams is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Martin Cristos!
A relieved looking Martin Cristos thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
