PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sullivan has chosen Blood on the ground as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sammy Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison has a takedown stuffed.
Horrible takedown by Morrison or perhaps it was just good defense by Sullivan which made him look bad.
Morrison shoots in for a takedown but Sullivan shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Morrison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Decent striking displayed by Sullivan there.
Morrison misses with a head kick.
Morrison shoots in and drives through. Sullivan sprawls well.
Morrison lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sullivan circles away quickly and effectively.
Sullivan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Morrison fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sullivan avoids it really well and circles away.
Sullivan connects with a right hand. Morrison shakes it off.
Morrison shoots in looking for a takedown. Sullivan tries to sprawl out of it but Morrison keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sullivan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Morrison drives through and clinches with Sullivan against the cage.
Sullivan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sullivan wants to stall.

Morrison jumps guard.
Sullivan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sullivan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sullivan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sullivan wants to stand and escape but instead Morrison has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morrison prevents Sullivan from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sullivan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sullivan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Morrison stands up from Sullivan's guard - Morrison perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sullivan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Morrison.
Morrison rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sullivan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Morrison misses the shot to the body.
Sammy Sullivan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Morrison throws a sloppy head kick and Sullivan moves out of range easily.
Morrison is looking to clinch but Sullivan is avoiding it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A jab from Sullivan finds it's way through Morrison's defenses.
A punch lands to the side of Morrison 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sullivan is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Morrison misses with a hook. Sullivan ducked under it nicely.
Morrison blocks a leg kick.
A combination from Morrison does no damage.
Sullivan throws a jab but it's blocked by Morrison.
Morrison swinging wildly here.
Sullivan swats away the attempt to clinch by Morrison.
Sullivan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sullivan.
Sullivan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Morrison displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sullivan throws out the jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morrison moves out of range as Sullivan strikes.
Sullivan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Morrison sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sullivan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Sullivan lands with a straight right. Morrison didn't see that one coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morrison takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sullivan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Morrison has a takedown stuffed.
Morrison shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sullivan pinned against the cage. Sullivan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Morrison avoids a punch combination nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice uppercut lands for Sullivan. That snapped Morrison's head back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sammy Sullivan dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sammy Sullivan!
An intense looking Sammy Sullivan took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'I cant lie, If I had of lost, I was debating retirement. It's tough losing, but this Win is huge! watch out world, I'm Back!'.
