Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva blocks the body kick.
Hayes is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.

letting Hayes counter with a right hand.

Hayes slows down the pace here.
Silva gets underhooks to prevent Hayes's takedown attempt.
Hayes will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage.

Hayes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Hayes which made him look bad.
Ira Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva shoots in but no luck this time.

Silva moves out of range of the body kick from Hayes.

Hayes stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Hayes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Silva feints and as Hayes raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hayes wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Silva gets to his feet - Hayes follows without any prompting.
Hayes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hayes's guard now.

Hayes wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hayes throws a lazy body kick
and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hayes's guard.
Silva content to stall in guard here.
Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hayes missing with a left hand there. Silva was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hayes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hayes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hayes, who protects the arm well.

Silva advances to full mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Silva takes Hayes's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is cranking Hayes's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hayes! He's tightened the choke and Hayes is tapping out!
