Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conan Corn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Lavell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Lavell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conan Corn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Lavell! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lavell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Corn to score an easy takedown into full guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Lavell throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Lavell pulls Corn in close to his closed guard and prevents Corn from doing any damage or advancing position. Corn trying to control the position from guard on top but Lavell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Corn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lavell is looking to reverse the position. Lavell looks to move to half guard but instead Corn has passed into mount! Damn! Lavell is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lavell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Corn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Corn tries to control but Lavell wriggling away. Lavell regains half guard. Lavell wants to control but Corn is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lavell is staying active underneath Corn, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Lavell trying to control here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Conan Corn wasn't doing enough on the ground. Lavell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Corn was covering up waiting for the punch and Lavell finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lavell won't allow Corn to sweep him here. This has been an exciting period of action! Lavell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lavell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Corn misses with a double jab
and Lavell moves into the clinch. Lavell tries for a takedown but Corn manages to get underhooks.
Corn jumps into guard, dragging Lavell to the mat.
Corn throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Corn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lavell wants to pass the guard but Corn is keeping the position. Lavell looks gassed! Lavell's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lavell would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Corn wants to get back to his feet but Lavell is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Corn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lavell is stalling in the full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Corn pulls Lavell in close to prevent any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Randy Lavell will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lavell looks for a takedown but Corn sprawls well. Lavell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Corn leaves Lavell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Corn drives through with a takedown into guard. Corn throws a big right hand that misses. Lavell has Corn pulled in close to control his posture. Corn trying to control but Lavell is working from the bottom. Lavell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Corn defends it easily. Lavell is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corn trying to control but Lavell is working from the bottom. Corn stopping the sweep attempt from Lavell. Lavell looking for a guillotine here but Corn defends easily.
Corn pushing down on Lavell's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lavell has a hand on Corn's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Corn takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Lavell wants to hold on but Corn pushes him away. Lavell is squirming around, avoiding Corn's attempts to control the action. Corn with shots to the head and body - Lavell looks very uncomfortable down there. Lavell manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lavell is staying active underneath Corn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corn looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Corn trying to control the action but Lavell is working from the bottom. Corn is looking to stall here but Lavell recovers full guard. Corn forces his way into half guard. Corn is thwarting Lavell's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Corn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lavell controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Lavell wants to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Conan Corn dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Corn lands with a nice body punch. Corn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lavell is trying to control but can't.
Corn is taking a breather. Lavell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Lavell flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Corn has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Lavell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lavell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corn lands with some strikes. Corn is standing up, even though he is in mount. Lavell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Corn to the ground. Lavell is now in Corn's guard. Corn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lavell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lavell trying to control the position from guard on top but Corn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corn controls Lavell momentarily but Lavell frees himself. Corn controlling Lavell's posture. Conan Corn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Randy Lavell wasn't active enough on the ground. Lavell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Corn stuffs the takedown attempt from Lavell. Lavell gets slowly back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Corn moves into range and connects with a jab. Corn gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lavell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Corn's elbow. Corn has picked Lavell up - he's going for a ride! Corn dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Corn decides to return to a standing position. Lavell gets caught napping as Corn dives in and scores a takedown. Lavell manages to retain guard. Corn trying to control the position from guard on top but Lavell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lavell is trying to control the position but Corn postures up. Corn connects with a couple of short punches. Corn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Corn works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Lavell tries to roll over but Corn keeps him under control. Corn decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Lavell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Corn defends it nicely. Corn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corn looking to score a takedown here. Lavell is defending well but Corn drives through and ends up in Lavell's guard. Lavell wants to stand and escape but Corn is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Conan Corn showed his dominance in that final round. Well Corn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
