Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samak Tiyapairat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tiyapairat comes to the cage accompanied by Ram Muay. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Tiyapairat catches Barbosa right on the button with a cross.
Tiyapairat clinches up against the cage.
Tiyapairat connects with a nasty looking knee right to Barbosa's face.
It looks like Hector Barbosa has been cut.
Barbosa is trying to pull guard but Tiyapairat has him pressed against the cage.

Barbosa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Barbosa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Barbosa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tiyapairat defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tiyapairat got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barbosa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tiyapairat has managed to get both his arms back between Barbosa's legs - danger averted.

Barbosa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tiyapairat defends it easily.
Barbosa has his foot on Tiyapairat's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tiyapairat works his way back into a safe position though.

Barbosa is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tiyapairat's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tiyapairat's back!

Barbosa throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Barbosa wants to control the position but Tiyapairat frees himself and scrambles - Barbosa manages to regain control in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barbosa is trying to get an arm triangle but Tiyapairat is defending well.

Barbosa drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Barbosa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tiyapairat walks away with a smile on his face. Barbosa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Barbosa takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Tiyapairat has Barbosa up against the cage in a clinch.
Barbosa wants to take the fight to the mat but Tiyapairat manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Samak Tiyapairat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Barbosa.

Barbosa is trying to pull guard but Tiyapairat turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Tiyapairat comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Tiyapairat tries a knee to the head but Barbosa blocks it.
Barbosa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tiyapairat just stands there and leans against the cage.
Barbosa can't get the takedown.
Barbosa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tiyapairat fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barbosa, pushing him back against the cage.
Tiyapairat lands a damaging elbow.
Barbosa tries for a takedown. No joy.
Barbosa is breathing heavily.
Tiyapairat presses Barbosa against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Barbosa takes a knee to the side of the body.
Barbosa is trying to pull guard but Tiyapairat has him pressed against the cage.
Barbosa's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Barbosa is trying to force a seperation but Tiyapairat has the dominant position.
Tiyapairat unloads a knee to the mid-section. Barbosa lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tiyapairat manages to break the clinch.
Tiyapairat bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Barbosa shoots in and drives through. Tiyapairat sprawls well.
Tiyapairat connects with an inside leg kick.

Tiyapairat fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tiyapairat throws a one two combo.
Tiyapairat lands with an uppercut that bounces Barbosa off the cage and back into range.
Barbosa is rocked!
Tiyapairat cracks Barbosa on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Barbosa falls backwards against the cage. Tiyapairat follows up with more strikes that drop Barbosa to his knees. Tiyapairat keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Barbosa! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samak Tiyapairat!
Samak Tiyapairat was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
