Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Raphael Stone enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raphael Stone!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a good cross that connects.
Rua fails with the takedown.
Stone lands with a good body shot.
Stone jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stone explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua.
Stone looks to land a combination. Rua sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Stone throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stone circles away.

Rua shoots for a double leg takedown but Stone sprawls well. He's pushed Rua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stone fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rua, pushing him back against the cage.

Rua takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua is trying to drag Stone to the mat but Stone just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Raphael Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua dives in and grabs Stone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stone pushes down on Rua's head and hops out.
Stone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rua looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stone throws a series of strikes that have Rua backpedaling.
Stone keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Stone moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Stone lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Stone's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rua under the eye.
Oh Rua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stone throws a low kick but Rua avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rua on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Rua. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Stone pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rua back to the cage. Stone follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Rua shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stone as he jumps to the side.

Stone tries to bum rush Rua with a series of wild strikes but Rua uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rua throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rua off to one side.

Rua looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Stone tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rua is able to avoid easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Raphael Stone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rua tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rua somewhat.

Rua shoots in looking for a takedown. Stone tries to sprawl out of it but Rua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
