Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus McBorin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rejinaldo Silveira! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silveira gets caught flat footed, as McBorin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silveira will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
McBorin trying to control the position from guard on top but Silveira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McBorin pushes down on Silveira's leg and manages to get into half guard. Silveira is looking to get back to is feet but McBorin passes into side control.
McBorin is trying to get an arm triangle but Silveira is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silveira is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McBorin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. McBorin trying to control the action but Silveira is working from the bottom. Silveira wants to improve his position but McBorin is controlling well.
McBorin wants to take a breather but Silveira is having none of it. McBorin controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ground and pound from McBorin. Silveira keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Silveira looks like he's trying to stand up.
Silveira is staying active underneath McBorin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McBorin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. McBorin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. McBorin lands strikes from half guard. Silveira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McBorin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silveira on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McBorin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McBorin connects with a nice short shot to Silveira's temple.
Silveira is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBorin scores with a big shot! Silveira's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Silveira! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
