Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Harry Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tran comes to the cage accompanied by Theme from Mortal Kombat. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran checks a low kick from Staton.
Staton moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Tran closes the distance and clinches.

Tran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Tran.

Tran rushes Staton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tran gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Joshua Staton has been cut.

Tran manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Tran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Staton uses from the top position.

Staton tries to keep at a distance but Tran has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tran jumps guard and drags Staton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Staton wants to stand but Tran is controlling his posture from full guard.

Tran pushes Staton off and scrambles back to his feet.
Harry Tran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tran closes the distance and clinches.
Tran stalls.

Tran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tran throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Staton.

Tran avoids the head kick by Staton.
Staton tries a head kick but it misses.
Staton thows a leg kick but Tran checks it

and Tran counters by moving into the clinch.

Tran jumps guard and drags Staton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Staton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tran has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Staton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
