Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edin Alijagic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Punch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edin Alijagic!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alijagic is defended easily by Punch.
Punch throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Alijagic gets the takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Alijagic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alijagic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Punch is looking for a sweep.
Alijagic is trying to get an arm triangle but Punch is defending well.
Punch is trying to escape the position but Alijagic is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Punch is not content to let Alijagic control the position.
Alijagic controlling from side mount.
Alijagic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Punch keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Edin Alijagic has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Punch displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Alijagic shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Punch as he avoids it easily.
Punch scores with a one two! Alijagic had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Alijagic shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alijagic showed some decent athleticism there.
Alijagic wants to control but Punch is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alijagic in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Punch tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Alijagic!
