Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solomon Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bateman comes to the cage accompanied by Huey Lewis and The News - Hip to be Square. Solomon Gunn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Solomon Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bateman.
Gunn misses with an uppercut
and Bateman counters with a nice uppercut.
Bateman keeps the fight on the outside.
Gunn connects with a solid leg kick.
Gunn lands a head kick. Bateman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Patrick Bateman has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gunn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bateman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bateman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bateman punishes Gunn's body with a nice straight punch.
Bateman wants to clinch up but Gunn keeps it at a distance.

Bateman shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gunn eats them both and turns towards Bateman to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Solomon Gunn has been cut.

and Bateman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Patrick Bateman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gunn throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gunn moves away from the strike by Bateman.
Bateman scores with a shot to the body.
Bateman feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gunn's calf.
Gunn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bateman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A low kick from Bateman is predictable there
and Gunn counters with a good, hard body kick but Bateman shrugs it off.
Gunn throws out a leg kick but Bateman moves out of range and Gunn only half commits.

Bateman slips under a jab.
Gunn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bateman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gunn lands with a right hand.
Bateman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bateman there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gunn throws the kick towards the body but Bateman avoids it.
Gunn looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Bateman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gunn manages to avoid it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gunn. That's going to slow Bateman down.

Bateman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Solomon Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bateman tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Gunn counters with a leg kick.

Bateman moves forwards but Gunn connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gunn misses with a body kick.
Gunn swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Gunn takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gunn throws a leg kick that misses.
Gunn misses with an uppercut. Bateman saw that one coming.

Gunn throws a right and a left that Bateman avoids nicely.

and Bateman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bateman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gunn dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bateman. That did some damage!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Solomon Gunn dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gunn moves into range and clinches up with Bateman.
Bateman lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Gunn is trying to drag Bateman to the mat but Bateman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
