Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Spanch Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Cartez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spanch Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Cartez!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob shoots for a double leg takedown but Cartez sprawls well. He's pushed Bob's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bob will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bob avoids the head kick by Cartez.

Bob fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cartez sprawls well initially but Bob persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cartez is trying to stand.

Cartez kicks Bob off and gets back to his feet.

Cartez has Bob up against the cage in a clinch.
Bob is trying to drag Cartez to the mat but Cartez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spanch Bob. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bob changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cartez fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bob shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cartez's guard.
Bob stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cartez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cartez manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bob tries for a takedown but Cartez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cartez throws a head kick that misses.
Cartez shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cartez stuffs the takedown.
Bob will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cartez throws a jab when Bob was well out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cartez.
Bob shoots in and drives through. Cartez sprawls well.
Bob is breathing heavily.
Cartez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bob as he avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cartez closes the distance and clinches.

Cartez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bob uses from the top position.

Bob slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bob wants to control but Cartez is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bob is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cartez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cartez wants to get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Cartez's face as Bob controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bob trying to control the position but Cartez is working away.

Bob tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bob takes a little break here. Cartez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Spanch Bob will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cartez decides to stand back up. Cartez steps back and let's Bob get back to his feet.
Bob shoots in and drives through. Cartez sprawls well.

Cartez moves into the clinch successfully.
Cartez is trying to break the clinch but Bob is controlling him.
Bob keeps control of Cartez as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bob tries for a takedown but Cartez manages to get underhooks.

Cartez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bob closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cartez circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cartez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bob pinned against the cage. Bob gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cartez misses the jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bob throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cartez's waist but Cartez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bob off to one side.
Bob shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cartez as he avoids it easily.

Cartez clinches up with Bob and pushes him back against the cage.
Cartez is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Cartez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bob is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cartez pulls him back up using the underhooks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cartez drags the fight down to the ground.
Cartez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bob trying to control the position from guard on top but Cartez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cartez is looking to stand up but Bob isn't so interested in that idea.
Cartez keeping moving, preventing Bob from controlling successfully.
Bob wants to pass the guard but Cartez is keeping the position.
Bob pushing down on Cartez's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Bob is trying to control. Cartez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bob takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bob is keen to just control but Cartez is a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Spanch Bob wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bob tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cartez swivels and escapes.

Cartez moves into the clinch.
Bob wants a takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bob is working for takedown but Cartez is calmly controlling the position for now.
Cartez is trying to push Bob away but Bob has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Charles Cartez will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Spanch Bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bob wants to control from the top but Cartez keeps moving.
Bob is really struggling to control Cartez but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Bob wants to pass the guard but Cartez is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Spanch Bob.
Bob has a takedown stuffed.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cartez stuffs the takedown attempt from Bob. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob shoots in looking for a takedown but Cartez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bob's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Cartez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cartez is trying to break the clinch but Bob is controlling him.
Bob has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cartez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Charles Cartez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cartez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Charles Cartez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
