Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Prentice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Glenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prentice pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No joy there for Prentice, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Glenn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Prentice circles away quickly and effectively.

Glenn rushes Prentice and presses him up against the cage.
Prentice has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Prentice escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Glenn swats away the attempt to clinch by Prentice.
Prentice shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Glenn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Glenn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Prentice's guard.
Glenn content to control rather than advance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Glenn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Prentice knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Glenn on the ground.
Let's hope that Glenn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Alex Glenn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Glenn darts in and clinches Prentice up against the cage.
Glenn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Prentice just stands there and leans against the cage.

Glenn has Prentice pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Glenn pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Prentice tumbling to the mat - Glenn dives into Prentice's guard.

It looks like Glenn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Prentice tries to clinch but Glenn moves away

and Glenn counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Glenn.

Prentice is trying to stand back up but Glenn is controlling him
Glenn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Prentice with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Prentice's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Prentice is breathing heavily.

That's time! Prentice's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Prentice throws the left hand but Glenn avoids the punch easily.
Prentice wants to clinch

and Glenn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Prentice's guard.
Prentice wants to stand up but Glenn is controlling him.

Glenn is stalling in the full guard.
Prentice wants to get back to his feet but Glenn is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alex Glenn wasn't active enough on the ground.
Prentice wants to clinch up but Glenn keeps it at a distance.

Glenn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Glenn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Glenn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Glenn looks up at the clock and then as Prentice takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Glenn smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Glenn cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Glenn.
Prentice seems a little lost for a moment, as Glenn dominates the positioning.
Prentice is looking to get back to his feet here but Glenn is keeping cool and he's managed to take Prentice's back.
Prentice is trying to get back to his feet but Glenn has full control of the position and if anything, Prentice has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Glenn has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Prentice is in real trouble here. Glenn gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Prentice is tapping out! Glenn wins by rear naked choke!
