PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roope Tarvainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guile Roswell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roswell has chosen Poupine et Thierry as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roswell tries to clinch but Tarvainen is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tarvainen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Roope Tarvainen will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Tarvainen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Tarvainen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tarvainen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roswell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Roope Tarvainen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Tarvainen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Tarvainen counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Roswell thinking.

Tarvainen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roswell on his heels. He'll look to pass Roswell's guard now, I'm sure.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tarvainen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Roswell is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tarvainen throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Roswell's body to avoid the submission. Roswell has instead reached around Tarvainen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Roswell arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
