Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julio Cesar Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Dumpleton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julio Cesar Chavez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Dumpleton! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Dumpleton closes the distance and clinches up with Chavez, looking for a takedown. Dumpleton pushes Chavez against the cage but Chavez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chavez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Chavez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dumpleton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chavez is fending him off so far but Dumpleton persists. Nope, Chavez circles away and we're back to standing. Chavez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Chavez dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Chavez scores with a nice strike. Chavez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Chavez doesn't manage to clinch there - Dumpleton circles away.

Chavez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Chavez checks a leg kick. Chavez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dumpleton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Julio Cesar Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Dumpleton. Chavez lands with a straight right. Dumpleton didn't see that one coming.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Dumpleton with that takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Chavez enables Dumpleton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Chavez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dumpleton passes easily into side control. Nice work. Dumpleton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chavez, who protects the arm well. Dumpleton working away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chavez is looking to regain half guard here but Dumpleton keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Chavez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dumpleton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez tries to bench press Dumpleton off him but Dumpleton keeps the position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Chavez is looking to reverse the position. Dumpleton moves into full mount! Chavez sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Chavez is trying to maintain the position but Dumpleton is very close to passing his half guard. Dumpleton trying to control the action but Chavez is working from the bottom. Chavez tries to roll over but Dumpleton keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dumpleton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chavez defends it well. Chavez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dumpleton on the ground. Dumpleton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dumpleton seems to be working for a kimura but Chavez defends the submission attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dumpleton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chavez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dumpleton is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julio Cesar Chavez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dumpleton fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dumpleton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chavez. Dumpleton misses with a low kick as Chavez jumps back. Chavez throws a nice looking combination but Dumpleton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dumpleton wants to land a leg kick but Chavez is out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dumpleton. Dumpleton shoots in looking for a takedown but Chavez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dumpleton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Julio Cesar Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Dumpleton.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez thows a body shot but no joy. Chavez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dumpleton fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Dumpleton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chavez to score with a decent uppercut. Chavez scores with a one two! Dumpleton had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Chavez doesn't manage to clinch there - Dumpleton circles away.
Julio Cesar Chavez is winning the standup battle so far. Chavez takes a swing at Dumpleton's ribcage but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dumpleton misses with a takedown attempt and Chavez counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dumpleton tries for a takedown but Chavez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dumpleton gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Chavez lands a glancing blow to the side of Dumpleton's head. Chavez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dumpleton moves away. Chavez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez throws a series of punches but Dumpleton avoids them all with ease. Chavez stuns Dumpleton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Dumpleton walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Dumpleton fails with the takedown. A jab from Chavez does it's job there. Chavez misses with the combination.
Dumpleton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chavez.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dumpleton shoots for a double leg takedown but Chavez sprawls well. He's pushed Dumpleton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dumpleton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chavez did well to prevent Dumpleton getting side control. Dumpleton is working for a submission of some sort.
Dumpleton seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Chavez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
