Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chyrka Ebani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sosa has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Chyrka Ebani will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jim Sosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chyrka Ebani!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ebani closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sosa circles away.
Ebani fails with the takedown

and Sosa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ebani's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ebani tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ebani is trying to control the position but Sosa postures up.
Sosa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ebani is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Ebani keeps moving.
Ebani is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sosa is controlling him.
Sosa is breathing heavily.
Ebani throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ebani is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sosa really is a fat lump.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sosa. Ebani does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sosa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ebani can pounce on him.
Ebani throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sosa's waist but Sosa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ebani off to one side.
Jim Sosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chyrka Ebani.
Ebani lands a jab-cross combination.
Ebani shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sosa defends it nicely.

Ebani darts in and clinches Sosa up against the cage.

Ebani pulls guard effortlessly.
Ebani utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ebani trying to keep a closed guard but Sosa is proving a slippery customer.
Ebani really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sosa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ebani dives in and grabs Sosa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sosa pushes down on Ebani's head and hops out.
Ebani closes the distance and clinches up with Sosa, looking for a takedown. Ebani pushes Sosa against the cage but Sosa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ebani lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ebani throws a front kick that sends Sosa stumbling back into the cage.
Ebani tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sosa swivels and escapes.
Ebani tries to clinch up.
Ebani shoots in looking for a takedown. Sosa tries to sprawl out of it but Ebani keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sosa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ebani scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Sosa gets the takedown into side control.
Ebani is looking to reverse the position.
Ebani is trying to buck Sosa off.

Sosa takes a little break here. Ebani wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sosa sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ebani is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sosa lands a few punches from side control.

Sosa stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ebani has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chyrka Ebani will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ebani shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sosa sprawls well. Sosa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ebani gets slowly back to his feet.
Jim Sosa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sosa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ebani.

Ebani pushes Sosa up against the cage in a clinch.
Ebani is trying to pull guard but Sosa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Sosa has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ebani is trying to keep an underhook but Sosa manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ebani is on top in guard.

Sosa manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ebani misses with a takedown attempt - Sosa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ebani is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sosa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ebani pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ebani rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sosa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Sosa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ebani is trying to defend but Sosa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sosa moves into full mount! Ebani won't be happy about that!

Sosa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ebani as he jumps to the side.
Ebani tries to close the distance and clinch but Sosa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ebani tries to clinch but Sosa moves out of range.
Ebani throws a nice head kick!

Ebani scores a takedown into full mount!
Ebani tries to control but Sosa wriggling away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sosa defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Ebani.
Ebani looking to control but Sosa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ebani scoring with strikes but Sosa is staying in there.
Sosa is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Sosa tries to control the position but Ebani now has his back.
Sosa looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Ebani has good solid back control here.
Ebani tries to get the hooks in deep but Sosa pushed the leg off.
Sosa just trying to survive but Ebani is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Sosa staying busy and making it hard for Ebani to control.

Ebani looking to break Sosa's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sosa remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Ebani will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Sosa manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ebani's guard. Nice work there by Sosa.

Chyrka Ebani comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ebani has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
