PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bang Barne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Peete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peete is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bang Barne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Peete!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barne lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Bang Barne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barne leaves Peete with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Barne misses the target.
Barne misses with a straight right.
Peete moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd cheers as Barne lands an impressive looking overhand right. Peete doesn't seem phased though.
Peete is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Barne thows a left - swing and a miss!
Barne bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Peete's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Peete avoids the body shot from Barne.
Peete tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barne sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Peete somewhat.
Barne throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Peete counters with an inside leg kick.
Barne lunges at Peete with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Peete's hand.
A combination from Barne does no damage.

Barne swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Barne scores with a one two! Peete had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Barne is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Barne slaps away a takedown attempt from Peete, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bang Barne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Peete.
Peete on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Peete avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Horrible takedown by Peete or perhaps it was just good defense by Barne which made him look bad.
Peete shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barne as he avoids it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barne stalks Peete and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Peete's face. Peete staggers backwards, shaken.

Barne looks to score with a jab to the body but Peete is just out of range.
Barne throws a lazy right hand but Peete sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Peete avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Peete is trying desperately to land a takedown but Barne is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Peete.
Peete shoots in looking for a takedown. Barne tries to sprawl out of it but Peete keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Peete uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Barne.
Peete takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peete accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Peete throws a big elbow that misses.
Peete loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Barne on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barne tries to get out of the position.
Barne not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Peete throws a strike but Barne rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Barne has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Peete manages to escape and get back to his feet.

and Peete counters with a single leg into guard. Barne didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peete decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bang Barne dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Peete tries for a takedown but Barne sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Peete takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Peete moves away from the strike by Barne.
Barne looks to land a left hand but Peete moved out of range nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peete.

Peete misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bang Barne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Peete.

and Peete counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Peete.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barne utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Peete has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Peete is pushing down on Barne's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barne is fighting to maintain full guard but Peete has managed to sneak the leg through.

Peete thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barne wants to control but Peete is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Peete thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barne's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Peete thows a huge punch but Barne dodges it nicely.

Peete takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Peete looks to land a strike but Barne avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Peete is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barne is just riding it out for now. Peete eventually gives up the hold.
Peete is keen to just control but Barne is a slippery customer.
Barne wants to improve his position but Peete is controlling well.

Alexander Peete comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Peete has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
