Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mr Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mr Pain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mr Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Todd Davis!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis lands with a shot to the body.

Pain looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Davis!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Davis sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Davis actively working from the bottom here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Davis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pain's back!
Pain looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Pain fending off the submission attempt from Davis.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Davis is hanging on to Pain's back as he tries to escape.
Pain tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Davis is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pain has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pain!

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pain defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pain showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Davis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davis on the ground.

Pain gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pain's waist but Pain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.

Pain looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pain has managed to get both his arms back between Davis's legs - danger averted.
Davis looks gassed!
Pain throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Pain with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Davis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pain stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Davis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Davis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pain circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pain circles away quickly and effectively.
Davis shoots for a takedown but Pain saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mr Pain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Todd Davis.
Some wild striking there from Davis.

Pain scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Pain wants to free his trapped foot but Davis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Davis looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Davis is trying to get back to full guard.

Davis has hold of Pain's hands but Pain slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pain working Davis over with strikes.
Pain controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pain has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Davis actively working from the bottom here.
Pain winds up and cracks Davis with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Pain will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Pain darts in and clinches Davis up against the cage.
Pain is struggling to control the position.
Davis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Davis gets caught napping as Pain dives in and scores a takedown. Davis manages to retain guard.
Pain wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.
Pain content to stall in guard here.

Davis looking for a guillotine here but Pain defends easily.
Pain has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davis has his foot on Pain's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pain works his way back into a safe position though.

Pain is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Pain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Davis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pain is aware though and is defending well.

Pain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pain wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.

Davis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pain is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Davis.
Davis is working to avoid the ground and pound but Pain connects with a decent elbow.
Davis tries to bench press Pain off him but Pain keeps the position.
Pain scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Davis to see if he's OK.
Pain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working.
Pain passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Davis!
Davis sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Pain wants to work for an arm triangle but Davis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Davis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pain's back!

Davis has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Pain! Can he survive? No! He's out! Davis gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
