The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato throws a shot from downtown. Suarez moves away and avoids it.
Nice takedown defense from Sato. No joy for Suarez on that attempt.
Sato scores with the left hand. Suarez knows he should have avoided that one.
Suarez dives in and grabs Sato's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sato pushes down on Suarez's head and hops out.
Sato scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Sato fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Suarez manages to avoid it.
Suarez throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sato lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sato lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Suarez drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sato looking for a guillotine here but Suarez defends easily.

Sato moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Sato had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Suarez defends it easily.
Suarez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Suarez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sato has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Suarez has managed to get both his arms back between Sato's legs - danger averted.

Suarez content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Sato has locked up a guillotine! Sato's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Suarez is holding on here and Sato must be using up a lot of energy. Suarez has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Sato gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
