The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tomson Jr throws a head kick that misses. Martin avoids the head kick by Tomson Jr.
Sloppy strikes from Martin. Those never looked like landing. Martin swinging wildly here.
Tomson Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Martin tries to land a leg kick but Tomson Jr saw it coming and moves away.
Tomson Jr throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Martin's head.
It looks like Tim Martin has been cut. Martin avoids the head kick by Tomson Jr.
Jab, jab by Martin - just one landing. Martin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Martin wants it to stay on the feet. Ceasar Tomson Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tomson Jr is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice takedown defense from Martin. No joy for Tomson Jr on that attempt. Tim Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ceasar Tomson Jr. Tomson Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A head kick misses from Tomson Jr.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomson Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Martin stuffs the takedown attempt from Tomson Jr. Tomson Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Tomson Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tomson Jr ducks right into an uppercut from Martin.
It looks like Ceasar Tomson Jr has been cut. Martin avoids the head kick by Tomson Jr.
Martin throws the kick towards the body but Tomson Jr avoids it. Tomson Jr walks forward, straight into a front kick from Martin. Tomson Jr looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Martin connects with a stiff jab that staggers Tomson Jr - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tim Martin! Tim Martin retains his super heavyweight title! Tim Martin decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
