Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom McGettigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom McGettigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Marek Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGettigan throws an overhand right that lands on Kowalski's shoulder, as Kowalski tries to avoid the shot.

McGettigan drops Kowalski with a big left hand and mounts him. Kowalski is in big trouble!


It looks like Marek Kowalski has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
McGettigan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McGettigan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kowalski wants to control but McGettigan is having none of it.

McGettigan goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kowalski turns into him and now he's in McGettigan's guard.

McGettigan wants to improve his position but instead Kowalski has moved into half guard.
Kowalski blocks the strikes from McGettigan.
McGettigan tries to roll over but Kowalski keeps him under control.
McGettigan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kowalski is working away from the top position though.
McGettigan is trying to escape back to his feet but Kowalski uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Kowalski throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and McGettigan works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

McGettigan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McGettigan is trying to stand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGettigan tries to reverse the position but Kowalski maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kowalski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McGettigan is looking to stand back up but Kowalski counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by McGettigan.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McGettigan pushes Kowalski off but Kowalski dives into side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Kowalski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McGettigan's guard.

Kowalski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kowalski looks up at the clock and then as McGettigan takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kowalski smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Kowalski cracks McGettigan with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kowalski immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! McGettigan is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kowalski!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marek Kowalski!
