Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marko Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyro Pipes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marko Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyro Pipes!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pipes gets caught flat footed, as Khan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Khan wants to control from the top but Pipes keeps moving.
Khan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pipes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Khan throwing strikes but missing.
Pipes working a defensive guard here.
Khan trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pipes's guard.
Khan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Khan has gone for a leg lock! Pipes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Khan's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pipes wants to pass the guard but Khan is keeping the position.
Pipes trying to control but Khan is working from the bottom.
Khan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pipes on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Khan clinches with his opponent.
Pipes wants a takedown but no success here.

Khan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Pipes goes for a takedown attempt but Khan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marko Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyro Pipes.

Khan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pipes blocking the ground and pound attempt from Khan.
Khan not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Khan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Khan is trying to control. Pipes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Khan tries to stand but can't do so whilst Pipes controls his leg.
Pipes is trying to get back to full guard.

Khan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pipes!
Pipes is squirming around, avoiding Khan's attempts to control the action.
Pipes is bucking up trying to escape but Khan cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Khan controlling the pace for now.
Khan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Khan wants to control but Pipes has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Khan misses with a series of wild punches.

Khan moves into range and clinches up with Pipes.
A right hand to the body from Khan.
Pipes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Khan fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Khan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pipes's half guard.
Pipes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Pipes regains full guard. Nicely done.
Pipes looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Khan wanted to stand there but Pipes had control of the position.
Khan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Khan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Pipes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Khan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Marko Khan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Khan pushes Pipes up against the cage in a clinch.

Khan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Khan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Pipes is breathing heavily.

Khan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pipes to stand up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Khan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Khan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Khan trying to control but Pipes is having none of it.
Khan controlling the pace for now.
Khan lands a heavy elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Khan lands with some strikes.
Khan controlling the pace for now.
Khan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pipes is looking to escape.
Khan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee warns Pipes that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marko Khan dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


A nice combination there by Khan.


It looks like Kyro Pipes has been cut.
Pipes slips a jab and a cross from Khan.

Khan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Khan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Khan is trying to trip Pipes. He has hold of a leg but Pipes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Khan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Khan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Khan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pipes can do to turn this around?

Khan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marko Khan wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Khan gets a double leg takedown into Pipes's guard.
Khan wants to stand and escape but instead Pipes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Khan striking off his back but it's not causing Pipes any problems.

Khan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pipes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Khan.

Pipes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pipes gets to mount! Khan was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pipes trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Pipes looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan wants to hold on but Pipes pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marko Khan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Khan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Marko Khan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
