Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kees Flodder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Avelar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omar Avelar! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flodder shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Avelar's guard. Avelar manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Flodder is wriggling around trying to escape.
Avelar stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Flodder gets a double leg takedown into Avelar's guard. Flodder controls the pace of the fight for a moment. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flodder drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Avelar dives on top into guard. Avelar trying to control the position from guard on top but Flodder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Flodder is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Flodder throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Avelar escapes and throws Flodder's legs to the side, diving into side control! Flodder looks to move to half guard but instead Avelar has passed into mount! Damn!
That's one minute gone in the round. Flodder bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Flodder preventing the sweep. Avelar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Flodder is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Avelar trying to keep a closed guard but Flodder is proving a slippery customer.
Flodder trying to control but Avelar is working from the bottom. Flodder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flodder drops back looking for a leg! Avelar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Avelar manages to kick Flodder off! Flodder jumps back into Avelar's guard. Avelar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Flodder drops back, looking for a kneebar! Avelar looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Avelar looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Avelar! Flodder parries the strikes from Avelar easily there. Avelar is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Flodder to escape.
Flodder is trying to improve his position. Avelar wants to stand but Flodder has his arm trapped. Flodder manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flodder is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Avelar doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Flodder. Flodder is looking to advance position but Avelar won't allow it. Flodder is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Avelar sees it coming and defends easily. Flodder is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Avelar is trying to escape the mount.
Flodder goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Avelar is on top in guard.
Avelar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Avelar tries to free his leg and advance position but Flodder is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flodder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Avelar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Avelar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Flodder looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Avelar passes into half guard.
Flodder is looking to control Avelar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Flodder avoid being mounted? Avelar tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Flodder. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flodder manages to get to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Flodder throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Kees Flodder dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Avelar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Flodder moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Avelar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flodder is defended easily by Avelar. Flodder uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Avelar. Avelar throws a good cross that connects.
Avelar lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Flodder tries for a takedown but Avelar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No joy there for Avelar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Avelar takes a swing at Flodder's ribcage but misses. Flodder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Avelar is fending him off so far but Flodder persists. Nope, Avelar circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kees Flodder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Avelar!
Avelar throws a low kick, looking for Flodder's leg but Flodder calmly moves out of range. Flodder changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Avelar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Avelar struggling a bit here. Flodder wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Avelar, who protects the arm well. Flodder goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Avelar has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Flodder but great work by Avelar. Flodder looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kees Flodder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Avelar tries to stand and escape but Flodder is controlling the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flodder slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Avelar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Avelar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flodder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Avelar has managed to get both his arms back between Flodder's legs - danger averted. Flodder working for a triangle but Avelar defends it easily.
Flodder has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Avelar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Avelar trying to control but Flodder is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flodder has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Avelar should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Flodder has tightened it up now! Avelar should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
