Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Merkk Maloney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tshering Wangchuck!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wangchuck moves into range and clinches up with Maloney.
Wangchuck throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Wangchuck creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Wangchuck with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Maloney drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wangchuck gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Wangchuck lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Merkk Maloney has been cut.
Wangchuck is trying to stall.
Wangchuck throws a knee to the head but misses.
Wangchuck misses with a knee to the head.
Wangchuck comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Maloney drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wangchuck throws an elbow but it misses.
Wangchuck lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Wangchuck with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Maloney ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Maloney no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Wangchuck trying to control but Maloney is working from the bottom.
Maloney on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maloney tries to get out of the position.
Wangchuck wants to stand but Maloney has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Maloney looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Wangchuck got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maloney has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wangchuck has managed to get both his arms back between Maloney's legs - danger averted.
Wangchuck wanted to stand there but Maloney had control of the position.

Wangchuck stands up from Maloney's guard - Wangchuck perhaps looking for a knockout.
Wangchuck is looking to clinch.

and Maloney counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maloney.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maloney wants to control from the top but Wangchuck keeps moving.

Wangchuck looking for a guillotine here but Maloney defends easily.
Maloney controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Wangchuck is trying to hold Maloney in close to prevent damage but Maloney has managed to pass into half guard.
Maloney stops Wangchuck from getting back to his feet.
Maloney moves into full mount! Wangchuck won't be happy about that!
Maloney wants to control the pace but Wangchuck is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maloney thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Wangchuck is trying to reverse the position but instead Maloney has taken his back - oops!

Maloney is looking for a rear naked choke here but Wangchuck reverses the position brilliantly into Maloney's guard!
Wangchuck must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wangchuck looking to sit in guard and control but Maloney gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wangchuck controls Maloney momentarily but Maloney frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tshering Wangchuck will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Merkk Maloney's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wangchuck tries to clinch but Maloney is having none of it.
Wangchuck moves to clinch but Maloney breaks away

and Maloney counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wangchuck's guard now.
Maloney tries to free his leg and advance position but Wangchuck is retaining full guard.
Wangchuck is looking to stand up but Maloney isn't so interested in that idea.
Wangchuck keeping moving, preventing Maloney from controlling successfully.
Maloney stops Wangchuck from standing up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wangchuck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We're going to have a standup here because Merkk Maloney wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wangchuck looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tshering Wangchuck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maloney shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wangchuck as he avoids it easily.
Wangchuck wants to clinch up but Maloney keeps it at a distance.
Tshering Wangchuck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wangchuck tries to close the distance and clinch but Maloney swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wangchuck is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wangchuck thuds his shin into the meat of Maloney's side.

Wangchuck fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maloney, pushing him back against the cage.
Maloney goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wangchuck prevents it.
Wangchuck landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Maloney takes an elbow to the forehead.
Wangchuck tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Wangchuck lands an elbow inside that Maloney shrugs off.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wangchuck using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Maloney has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Wangchuck lands an elbow that stopped Maloney in his tracks for a moment.
Wangchuck misses with a knee strike.
Wangchuck lands a knee to the head.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Wangchuck.

Maloney is rocked!
Wangchuck unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Maloney! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Wangchuck is unloading with more strikes now! Maloney drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tshering Wangchuck!
