Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Rojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miguel Rojo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jesus Christ! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Christ fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rojo avoids it really well and circles away. Rojo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rojo misses with a straight right. Christ closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rojo did well to prevent Christ getting side control. Rojo wants to control but Christ is keeping busy and won't allow it. Christ slows the pace down in half guard. Christ is working for a submission of some sort.
Christ throwing shots but Rojo is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rojo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Christ looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Rojo wants to improve his position but Christ is controlling well.
Christ decides to stand up. Christ shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rojo napping and manages to drive through into side control! Christ swings around for an armbar but Rojo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Christ's guard. Rojo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Christ is looking for a triangle but Rojo pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Christ wriggles free and stands up. Christ is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Christ drives through and clinches with Rojo against the cage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Christ goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rojo prevents it.
Rojo is working Christ over against the cage. Rojo is pressed up against the cage. Christ has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rojo down to the mat. Rojo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Miguel Rojo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Christ.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rojo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Christ will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Christ misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rojo swings for the body but Christ moves out of range.
Rojo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Christ shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rojo pinned against the cage. Rojo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rojo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Christ blocks a head kick by Rojo.
Rojo scores with a nice head shot. Christ ducks under a wild hook from Rojo. Christ misses with a wild combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rojo's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rojo duly obliges. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horrible takedown by Christ or perhaps it was just good defense by Rojo which made him look bad. Rojo lands a head kick. Christ smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Jesus Christ has been cut. Rojo loads up on a big right hand but Christ slips the punch. Christ shoots in but Rojo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rojo looks to land a combination. Christ sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Horrible takedown by Christ or perhaps it was just good defense by Rojo which made him look bad. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rojo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Christ looks gassed! Rojo fails to land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christ passes into half guard. Still in half guard, Christ seems content to control. Christ lands strikes from half guard. Christ throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Christ is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rojo! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rojo tries to reverse the position but Christ maintains control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christ has hold of Rojo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rojo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Christ goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rojo is on top in guard.
Rojo throwing strikes from guard but Christ blocks nicely. Christ lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rojo! Christ avoids the attempt from Rojo to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Christ is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Christ shoots in for a takedown but Rojo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rojo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Christ sees it coming and avoids it easily. Miguel Rojo is winning the standup battle so far. Christ darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rojo is trying to get back to full guard. Rojo is looking to escape. Rojo is defending against the submission attempts here by Christ.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rojo won't allow Christ to pass to mount. Still in half guard, Christ seems content to control. Christ prevents Rojo from improving his position. Christ keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Christ is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rojo is trying to control but can't.

Rojo has his foot on Christ's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Christ works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rojo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Christ is aware though and is defending well. Christ trying to control the position from guard on top but Rojo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Christ looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Christ postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rojo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Christ, into his guard. Christ will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Rojo throws a big elbow that misses. Christ is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Christ looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Miguel Rojo. I think Rojo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
