Hawks comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 300 Violin Orchestra kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jason Hawks will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Hawks!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barton's waist but Barton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hawks off to one side.

Hawks kicks Barton off and gets to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Barton drives through with a takedown into Hawks's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barton has hold of Hawks's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hawks seems comfortable defending it but Barton has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hawks is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hawks is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Barton couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Clinton Barton!
After the fight, Clinton Barton was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
