Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fliper Mayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Rain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fliper Mayes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Rain! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mayes shoots in but Rain avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rain doesn't manage to clinch there - Mayes circles away.
No luck for Mayes with that takedown attempt. Mayes shoots in looking for a takedown. Rain tries to sprawl out of it but Mayes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fliper Mayes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rain tries to clinch but Mayes is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rain misses with a body kick. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Nice sprawl there from Rain as Mayes shoots in. Mayes avoids the head kick by Rain.
Rain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mayes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mayes fails to land the takedown. Mayes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rain fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mayes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mayes shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mayes showed some decent athleticism there. Mayes is breathing heavily. Rain is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rain wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rain is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Rain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mayes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rain is looking to control Mayes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rain avoid being mounted? Rain is trying is best to control the position here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rain tries to clinch but Mayes moves out of range. Mayes waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Rain. Mayes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rain tries to avoid it but Mayes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rain to the ground. Rain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rain is looking to clinch. Rain tries to close the distance and clinch but Mayes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rain throws a head kick that misses. Mayes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rain as he jumps to the side. Mayes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mayes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Andy Rain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mayes closes the distance and clinches up with Rain, looking for a takedown. Mayes pushes Rain against the cage but Rain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andy Rain dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mayes keeps the fight on the outside. The fight stays on the outside here - Rain looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mayes tries to shoot in for a takedown.
