Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pepe Broadeux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Filipunaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipunaki drives through and clinches with Broadeux against the cage.
Broadeux tries to pull guard but Filipunaki won't allow it.
Filipunaki breaks from the clinch.
Filipunaki tries to clinch there but Broadeux circles away.
Filipunaki moves out of range of the body kick.
Filipunaki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Filipunaki.
Broadeux tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Filipunaki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Filipunaki wants to stand but Broadeux is controlling his arm.

Broadeux wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Filipunaki lands a couple of decent looking shots.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Broadeux is on top in guard.
Broadeux stops Filipunaki from standing up.
Broadeux tries to free his leg and advance position but Filipunaki is retaining full guard.

Broadeux works over Filipunaki with some ground and pound from guard.
Filipunaki controls Broadeux momentarily but Broadeux frees himself.

Broadeux sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Filipunaki's guard.

Broadeux thows a huge punch but Filipunaki dodges it nicely.
Broadeux thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Filipunaki's head.
Broadeux has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Filipunaki takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Broadeux with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Broadeux lands a nice shot to the head.
Filipunaki is looking to get to half guard.
Filipunaki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Broadeux. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Broadeux shoots in and drives through. Filipunaki sprawls well.
Filipunaki takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Filipunaki counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Filipunaki is controlling the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Broadeux is looking for a sweep. Filipunaki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Broadeux holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Broadeux tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Broadeux is looking to control Filipunaki's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Broadeux avoid being mounted?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Filipunaki is looking for a kimura but Broadeux is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Filipunaki to get the leverage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Broadeux stuffs the takedown attempt from Filipunaki. Filipunaki gets slowly back to his feet.
Filipunaki forces Broadeux back against the cage and clinches.
Filipunaki breaks from the clinch.

Filipunaki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Broadeux jumps guard and drags Filipunaki to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Filipunaki wants to control from the top but Broadeux keeps moving.

Broadeux is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Filipunaki has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Broadeux to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Filipunaki is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Broadeux pulls down on the head and he's put Filipunaki to sleep! This one is all over!
