Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Hanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodrigo Morales! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morales changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hanson tries to avoid it but Morales manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hanson to the ground. Hanson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Morales shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hanson pinned against the cage. Hanson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hanson shoots in looking for a takedown but Morales manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hanson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Morales will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tyler Hanson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Morales. Hanson fails in his attempt to clinch. Hanson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Morales paws at him with a jab and circles away. Morales avoids the head kick by Hanson.
Hanson leaves Morales with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hanson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Morales is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hanson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Morales has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hanson after a bit of a struggle. Hanson tries to pull guard but Morales won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morales has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hanson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hanson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Hanson. Hanson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Morales is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hanson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hanson lands an elbow inside. Hanson prevents the takedown attempt.
Hanson breaks from the clinch.
Morales shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hanson as he jumps to the side. Hanson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hanson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Morales is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hanson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Hanson wants to take the fight to the mat but Morales manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Morales gets underhooks to prevent Hanson's takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action! Morales is looking to take this one to the mat. Morales is trying to drag Hanson to the mat but Hanson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hanson decides to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanson wants to stand but Morales is controlling the position. Morales postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hanson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Morales, into his guard. Morales working for a triangle but Hanson defends it easily.
Hanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Morales is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morales on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Morales is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hanson has his hands clasped together but Morales extends an breaks Hanson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Morales.
