Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Anderton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Rodd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luiz Anderton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luiz Anderton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Rodd! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodd slips a jab and a cross from Anderton.
Rodd shoots in looking for a takedown. Anderton tries to sprawl out of it but Rodd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Anderton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. No luck for Rodd with that takedown attempt. Rodd dives in and grabs Anderton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anderton pushes down on Rodd's head and hops out. Luiz Anderton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Rodd. Rodd gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Anderton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Anderton passes Rodd's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Anderton is trying to control. Rodd wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Anderton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Rodd trying to control but Anderton postures up.
Rodd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodd looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Anderton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rodd is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Anderton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Anderton throwing shots but Rodd is blocking nicely. Rodd is trying to maintain the position but Anderton is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rodd tries to roll over but Anderton keeps him under control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Anderton is working for a kimura but Rodd is defending it quite comfortably.
Anderton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rodd is refusing to be controlled, as Anderton sits in half guard. Anderton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rodd is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Anderton is thwarting Rodd's attempts to control the position. Rodd looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderton has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rodd defend it? Anderton steps over the head and cranks it - Rodd is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Anderton!
