Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Branislav Star (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Severi Suhonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severi Suhonen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Suhonen.
Star ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Suhonen moves away.

and Star counters with a nice double leg into side control. Suhonen won't be happy with that.
Suhonen tries to bench press Star off him but Star keeps the position.

Star wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Suhonen, who protects the arm well.
Suhonen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Suhonen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Star's best efforts.
Suhonen is staying active underneath Star, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Star sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Suhonen is looking to improve his position but Star isn't that keen on the idea.

Star swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Suhonen is now in Star's guard. A big mistake from Star there, giving up the dominant position!
Star might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Suhonen is trying to control the action in half guard but Star is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Suhonen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Star could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Severi Suhonen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Star has closed the distance and engaged Suhonen in a clinch.

Star has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Suhonen is trying to keep an underhook but Star manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Suhonen tries to roll over but Star keeps him under control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Suhonen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That was a close round but I would say that Branislav Star will probably get the nod.
That's time! Star's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Suhonen throws a head kick but Star moves out of range.

Star throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Suhonen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Star is in Suhonen's guard.

Star bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Star wants to pass the guard but Suhonen is keeping the position.

Suhonen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Star defends well.

Star is looking to advance position but Suhonen won't allow it.

Suhonen has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Star. Oh but Suhonen has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Star goes limp - he's gone! Suhonen jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
