Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens throws a lazy uppercut
and Matsumoto counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Matsumoto lands a jab-cross combination.
Horrible takedown by Stevens or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsumoto which made him look bad.
Stevens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Matsumoto counters with a thumping low kick.
Stevens misses with a takedown attempt
and Matsumoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hitoshi Matsumoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Stevens.
Stevens shoots and misses
and Matsumoto counters with a good low kick that Stevens was not able to check.
Stevens closes the distance but Matsumoto moves to the side
and Matsumoto makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Stevens really felt that one!
Stevens looks gassed!
Stevens takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matsumoto lands with a nice body punch.
Matsumoto tests Stevens's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Matsumoto works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Stevens is rocked!
Matsumoto sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Stevens's defenses. It connects perfectly with Stevens's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
