The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magtanggol checks the leg kick nicely there.

machida throws a nice looking combination but Magtanggol bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Magtanggol drops machida with a nice combination! Magtanggol dives into machida's guard, looking to finish!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magtanggol tries to stand but machida is controlling from the bottom.
machida seems to have got his legs back now.
Magtanggol wants to control from the top but machida keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Magtanggol wants to get up but he can't break machida's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Magtanggol connects with a nice cross there... machida is looking wobbly and Magtanggol recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send machida to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Magtanggol jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
