The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halo swats away the attempt to clinch by Hacking.
Halo slips a jab from Hacking.

Hacking closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Halo's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hacking won't allow Halo to get back to his feet.
Hacking postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hacking connects with a couple of short punches.
Hacking wants to pass the guard but Halo is keeping the position.
Hacking throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Halo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Halo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hacking with a flurry of punches that miss.
Halo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hacking. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hacking with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Hacking has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hacking passes Halo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Halo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Halo is trying to stand back up but Hacking is controlling him

Hacking is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Halo is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
