PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dark Mystery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Uta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uta has chosen Im Not Afraid- Eminem as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dark Mystery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Uta!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mystery wants to clinch.
Uta looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mystery thows a body shot but no joy.

Mystery drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mystery seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mystery is pushing down on Uta's leg trying to pass to half guard. Uta is fighting to maintain full guard but Mystery has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mystery performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Mystery working the head and body with strikes.
Mystery content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mystery seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Uta for as long as he can get away with.
Uta is trying to maintain the position but Mystery is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dark Mystery just wasn't active enough.

Mystery closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Uta is looking to reverse the position.
Mystery advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mystery landing strikes from the mount.
Mystery could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mystery controlling from mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Uta is looking to improve his position but Mystery isn't that keen on the idea.

Mystery has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dark Mystery.
Uta avoids the head kick by Mystery.
Uta closes the distance and clinches up with Mystery, looking for a takedown. Uta pushes Mystery against the cage but Mystery circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mystery shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mystery fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Uta, pushing him back against the cage.
Mystery changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Uta fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mystery tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mystery drives through and clinches with Uta against the cage.

Mystery has clasped his hands together around Uta's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mystery controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mystery advances to mount.
Mystery landing strikes from the mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mystery controlling the pace for now.
Mystery lands a big elbow.

Mystery is working for a guillotine from mount but Uta frees his head quite easily.

Mystery has hold of Uta's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Uta manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mystery controlling the pace for now.
BOOM! Mystery connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dark Mystery dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Mystery has Uta up against the cage in a clinch.
Mystery is trying to stall.
Mystery leaning his opponent against the cage.
Mystery wants a takedown.
Mystery misses with an elbow strike.
Uta wants to get back to striking at distance but Mystery won't allow it.

Mystery breaks the clinch.
John Uta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uta fails with a takedown attempt.
Mystery throws a hook but Uta avoids it easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mystery.
Uta is breathing heavily.
Mystery has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Uta!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Uta is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Mystery locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Uta is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dark Mystery!
