Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Maniche!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Maniche's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Velasquez has hold of Maniche's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Maniche manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Velasquez wants to take a breather but Maniche is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chicharito Velasquez dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Velasquez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Maniche feints and then cracks Velasquez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Velasquez down.
Maniche throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maniche slaps away a takedown attempt from Velasquez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Maniche lands a nice hook to Velasquez's body. Velasquez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Maniche rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Velasquez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Maniche counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Maniche counters with a good low kick that Velasquez was not able to check.

and Maniche cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Maniche will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Velasquez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Velasquez shoots in looking for a takedown but Maniche manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Velasquez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Velasquez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Maniche.
A nice combination there by Maniche.
