Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marco Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Moe Money!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Money shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Machado sprawls well. Machado wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Money gets slowly back to his feet.
Machado fails with the takedown.

Machado moves into the clinch successfully.
Money is working for takedown but Machado is calmly controlling the position for now.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Money goes for a takedown attempt but Machado pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marco Machado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Moe Money.
Nice sprawl there from Money as Machado shoots in.
Machado stuffs the takedown.

Money decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Money is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Machado sees it coming and defends easily.

Money is working for a kimura but Machado is defending it quite comfortably.

Money is looking for a kimura but Machado is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Money to get the leverage.

Machado gets back to full guard.
Money looking to pass the guard.
Money trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Machado manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Machado throwing strikes from guard but Money blocks nicely.
Machado wants to get up but he can't break Money's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Money working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Machado.
Machado in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Machado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Money keeping moving, preventing Machado from controlling successfully.

Money is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machado is aware though and is defending well.
Money looks gassed!
Machado is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Machado throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Money works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Money keeping moving, preventing Machado from controlling successfully.
Money tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Machado wants to control from the top but Money keeps moving.
Machado controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marco Machado.
Machado shoots in for a double leg but Money sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Machado closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Machado lands in his opponent's guard.
Machado wants to control from the top but Money keeps moving.

Money has his foot on Machado's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machado works his way back into a safe position though.
Money wants to sweep here but Machado controlling him for the moment.

Machado drops back looking for a leg! Money is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Money manages to kick Machado off! Machado jumps back into Money's guard.

Machado thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Money keeping moving, preventing Machado from controlling successfully.
Machado is really struggling to control Money but he's trying to hold on to the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Machado drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Machado as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Money screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Machado! Nice submission victory there!
