Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Silva Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva Diaz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Silva Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Kang!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kang is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Kang circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kang sprawls well. Kang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Kang looks to land a combination but Diaz avoids it well.
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kang's waist but Kang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Silva Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kang throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely.

Diaz forces Kang back against the cage and clinches.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Diaz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Diaz jumps guard but Kang stands there with Diaz around his waist. Diaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kang takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Kang keeps control of Diaz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

The crowd are getting on Kang's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Kang throws an elbow that misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Victor Kang.
Diaz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kang counters with a slapping leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Kang shows good takedown defense.
Kang throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kang throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diaz.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Kang shows good takedown defense.
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nice body punch from Diaz.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diaz rushes Kang and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Diaz tries to pull guard but Kang holds him up against the cage and eventually Diaz drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Kang obliges.
Diaz fails to pull guard.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Kang using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Diaz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Diaz tries to pull guard but Kang holds him up against the cage and eventually Diaz drops back down to his feet.
Kang is pushing Diaz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kang.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kang with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kang holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Kang lands a damaging elbow.
Kang connects with a knee to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kang lands an elbow that stopped Diaz in his tracks for a moment.
Kang scores with a knee to the head.

Diaz pulls Kang into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Victor Kang will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Kang closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage.

Diaz jumps guard and drags Kang to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Diaz has momentary wrist control but Kang slips an elbow through the middle.
Kang has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Diaz is proving hard to escape from.
Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kang has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Diaz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kang is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Diaz pulls down on the head and he's put Kang to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Silva Diaz!
