Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pieni Mies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harrie Van Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Barry tries a head kick but it misses.

and Mies counters with a single leg into guard. Van Barry didn't expect that.
Mies has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Van Barry is proving hard to escape from.

Mies not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mies wants to pass the guard but Van Barry is keeping the position.
Mies would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Mies throws a series of punches but Van Barry avoids them all with ease.

No joy there for Mies, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Harrie Van Barry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mies connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Van Barry walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mies's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mies wants to get up but he can't break Van Barry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mies controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pieni Mies wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Van Barry does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Mies counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Barry won't be happy with that.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Van Barry is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mies's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mies's back!

Van Barry working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Mies is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Van Barry has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Mies taps out!
