Valhall comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Amon Amarth - Valhall Awaits Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Valhall lands a leg kick that knocks Gomes off balance momentarily.
Gomes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Valhall counter with a right hand.
Gomes avoids the head kick by Valhall.
Gomes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Valhall tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Valhall.
Valhall scores with a jab.
Valhall throws a right and a left that Gomes avoids nicely.
Valhall doesn't manage to clinch there - Gomes circles away.
Gomes avoids the head kick by Valhall.
Martin Gomes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomes drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Valhall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gomes is aware though and is defending well.

Gomes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valhall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gomes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Valhall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gomes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gomes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Valhall keeping moving, preventing Gomes from controlling successfully.
Gomes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Valhall looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gomes passes into half guard.
Gomes is looking for a kimura but Valhall is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gomes to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomes prevents Valhall from improving his position.

Gomes content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Valhall looking for subs from the bottom but Gomes mounts him!

Gomes lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Valhall hang on?
Gomes trying to control but Valhall is having none of it.
Valhall tries to improve his position but Gomes has taken his back! Gomes has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Valhall tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gomes pushes Valhall away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
