The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Master shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sowinski as he avoids it easily. Master avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Sowinski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sowinski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Master takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Master takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sowinski stuns Master with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sowinski cracks Master with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Master changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sowinski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sowinski is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Master working away. Master tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Master has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Master thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Master is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Sowinski looks calm but he's in trouble here. Master gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Sowinski is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Master lets go of the hold and Sowinski can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Malcolm Master! Malcolm Master decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
