Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ashley Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hakkon Hakkonson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner tries to close the distance and clinch but Hakkonson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Turner fails to land the takedown.
Turner lands with a kick to the ribs.
Turner fails with the takedown.
Turner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hakkonson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Turner throws a head kick that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hakkonson as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ashley Turner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turner blocks a head kick by Hakkonson.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hakkonson.
Ashley Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turner misses with a takedown attempt - Hakkonson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A head kick by Hakkonson misses
and Turner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hakkonson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Turner's head.
Turner fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turner closes the distance and clinches up with Hakkonson, looking for a takedown. Turner pushes Hakkonson against the cage but Hakkonson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Turner fails to land the takedown.
Turner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hakkonson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Turner, pushing him back against the cage.
Hakkonson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Hakkonson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Turner regains guard.
Turner could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hakkonson works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turner is trying to get back to full guard.
Turner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hakkonson is looking for a kimura but Turner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hakkonson to get the leverage.
Turner is looking to improve his position.

Turner looking for submissions off his back.
Turner is breathing heavily.

Hakkonson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Turner defend it? Hakkonson steps over the head and cranks it - Turner is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hakkonson!
